Maximize the effectiveness of Learning-Focused Mentoring: A Professional Development Resource Kit by participating in an orientation session led by experienced users.

This two-day seminar illuminates the print and media resources contained in this comprehensive kit, provides tips and techniques for artful application, deepens mentoring skill and content understanding and offers practical strategies for presenting to adult learners.

The orientation seminar is organized for two key target groups:

Those who are interested in launching mentor training using the Resource Kit as a key component and want to develop the knowledge base for implementation by:

• exercising the critical skills and learning the key concepts of Mentoring Matters

• examining the instructional materials and process design in a stimulating and diverse learning environment

• increasing their presentation confidence and skill in working with adult learners

Those who are presently using the Resource Kit and want to enhance their use by:

• engaging in content refreshers and stretchers to increase skill in teaching and modeling the critical skills and key concepts of Mentoring Matters

• exploring strategies to differentiate lessons for diverse audiences

• increasing their presentation confidence and skill in working with adult learners
